Single sign-on (SSO) using Microsoft Entra ID πŸ”’

Does your organization use Microsoft Entra ID - enable Entra ID SSO for easy access management in your organization.

Updated over 3 months ago

πŸ“ Microsoft Entra ID was previously called Microsoft Azure Active Directory. The functionalities are for our purposes the same, even if the name has changed.

How can I enable Single Sign-On? πŸ›

All admin users can enable Microsoft Entra ID SSO for their organization through Vainu settings. Enabling SSO login is done through the Team & Privileges menu which is introduced in more detail here. You can also follow this direct link to the page.

What does it mean to enable Vainu for everyone in my organization?

Enabling this feature will allow any user in your Microsoft environment to log in to Vainu. They do not need a separate invite and can access Vainu simply by logging in to Vainu using the Microsoft Entra ID login option.

Once this option has been enabled, you can also fine-tune the access by limiting the auto-access to only certain domains. In the example below there is one available domain that has auto-access to Vainu using Microsoft Entra ID.

If Microsoft Entra ID SSO has not been enabled for all users, individual users will then need a separate invite before accessing Vainu. Invites need to be sent manually by the admin user as described here or by Vainu Support.

In general though, it is a good idea to enable the "Force new users to use their Microsoft account to sign in" option access to your organization's Vainu account will only ever be needed by people who are using your Microsoft environment and therefore have the required credentials readily available.

πŸ’‘ It's a good idea to share this section of the article to new Vainu users in your organization. You can either copy and paste relevant parts from below or share this direct link to this section: https://help.vainu.app/en/articles/120162-microsoft-azure-single-sign-on#h_c5ccec13f8

When accessing the Vainu login page you need to click on the "Sign in with Microsoft" button located under the primary login option. This will allow you to log in to Vainu using your Microsoft credentials instead of a regular Vainu account.

You only need to make sure if users in your organization are supposed to log in to our older platform...
