Vainu settings

An overview of what you can manage from the Vainu Settings menu.

Click the Settings icon in the left sidebar to open the settings menu:

Vainu Settings page, Profile & Team view

⚠️ Available options in the left-hand panel, and within the pages themselves depend on your user permissions and admin privileges.

Profile & Team

By clicking on Change password you will be directed to change your password by typing your old password once and your new password twice.

You can also choose your UI language between English, Finnish and Swedish.

If you are an admin user, you will see all users on your account under Team. You can invite new users by clicking on Invite user assuming your organization has seats available. The number of licenses is shown next to the title "Team".

You can check also when active users on your account have last logged in, change their admin status, and inactivate their user accounts.

We explain team management in more detail in a separate article.

Usage

Usage dashboard is explained in more detail in a separate article.

API Access

If your user account has API permissions enabled, you will see a separate page for API Access. Depending on your permissions you might be seeing any of the following three authentication types:

  • JWT authentication

  • OAuth applications

  • Legacy API Keys

Legacy API Keys are only applicable in Vainu APIv2 as detailed here. In APIv3 implementations, we support both JWT authentication as detailed here and OAuth client credentials as explained here.

The API Access page also contains a section that allows you to create temporary link to Vainu's data catalogue, which is normally only available to Vainu users. This is useful when you want to share Vainu's data catalogue for example to a colleague in marketing who wants to investigate the breadth of Vainu's data offering for a potential campaign or a CRM consultant who needs more information on specific data points. The link can be valid for a maximum of 60 days.

Vainu MCP

Vainu MCP is explained in more detail in a separate article. The settings page shows whether or not MCP access is part of your plan, lists compatible AI platforms, and presents the different tools available through the MCP.
